CONTEMPORARY DANCE WORKSHOP

The following is a brief outline of the Workshop:

90 min Contemporary Dance Master Class

15 min Tour of LASALLE’s Award Winning Campus

15 min Q&A Session

The master class will focus on the use of dance as a means of communicating by engaging both body and mind in an integrated manner and will consist of a combination of Contemporary Technique and Improvisation exercises. It would definitely be an enjoyable learning experience for your students that will allow them to improve on their technique and explore the different ways to engage their bodies through dance.

The numbers

J1s, there will be someone coming to choreo something new for you girls! The boys can continue with ya B-boyz and so 4 Minutes is gonna wait!

IMPT, J2s! We are requested to do a short dance on Sports Day and are planning to perform Roll It Girl! So for those who are interested, please come down from Wednesday onwards to revise the steps k! We would need at least a certain number of people who are synchronized before putting up the show. We practically only have 3 more practices before Sports Day so you should be prepared for any extra practices if involved. It is not compulsory so focus on your studies if you need to. :)

Dancers who had came for last Friday's (8/4) practice have already been briefed about our holy duty system. So for those who didn't attend, PLEASE READ THIS!!

THE HOLY DUTY SYSTEM
Objective: To keep the studio clean so that all of us can dance and lepak in a conducive environment, with no gross stuffz like strands of hair or such lying around!

The J2 dancers have been maintaining the cleanliness of the studio for the past few months. SOOOOOO... It's now time for the J2s to retire and for the J1s to take over the job!

No worries ah, the job is easy. You may approach any one of the Logistics Committee members, namely Fion (Head), Hidir, Si Ying, Ashikin and Zi Hui, if you have any queries.

*IMPORTANT: You will have to report for duty 20 minutes before dance practice to the respective logistics member on duty that day.

THE 4 DIFFERENT DUTIES

Sweep floor. (Using a broom)
Wipe floor. (To been done only after sweeping the floor with Magic Clean)
Ensure bags are placed neatly and properly.
Ensure shoes are placed on the shoe racks. (When racks are filled, ask dancers to place their shoes in rows beside them)

As promised, here is the Duty Roster.

PLEASE NOTE! SYF dancers are excluded from this list as you guys are excused from training by Sum for 3 months. But rest assured, once you guys are back you will be down for duty too!

*Group 1 will be down for duty on the next dance practice, 13/4 (Wed). Group 2, 15/4 (Fri), Group 3, 20/4 (Wed) and so on so forth. Please take note when will you be down for duty.

THE PUNISHMENT SYSTEM
In MDC, we focus a lot on PUNCTUALITY & RESPONSIBILITY (yeahhhh :>). This is for people who report late for duty or do not report for duty WITHOUT A VALID REASON.

The only valid reason we accept is...

***IF you have extra lessons after school that will eat into your duty time/you need to go for a longer break after your extra lesson***

**Please note that reasons such as dental appointments are ALSO accepted**

If so, please inform Siying immediately after receiving her SMS notification the night before. Even if you know about your extra lesson only on that day itself, you STILL HAVE TO inform her.

Punctual or not!? :o

We strictly stick to the time on the STUDIO CLOCK.

No bargains, no nonsense such as "OH BUT MY WATCH SAYS THAT I'M PUNCTUAL"

What happens if you are late/do not report for duty WITHOUT VALID REASON?

Your name will be blacklisted. Yes, very blackly, as black as this.

For every 5 blacklisted names, we will group you up and you will be punished as a group.

There will different types of punishments such as:

Assisting Ashikin & Zihui with stocktaking
Wiping mirrors
Packing the studio shelves
FREE SHOW PHYSICAL TRAINING during breaks eg. 1 minute of split, 30 pushups, sit ups ETC...

Yup, so I hope all of you dancers will take responsibility of your duties 'coz I believe none of you want to be blacklisted right? :D

The picnic is finaliseddddddddd!

All the SYF dancers, this will be a bonding session for you with the non-syf dancers! :D And the alumnuas can all come back too! It'll be at East Coast Park, most likely to be at, or at least near, the same venue last year :D

In case some of you don't know or pretend that you don't know, it's also a potluck session! So for every four J1 dancers, please bring some FOOD! :D If not I'll blacklist youuuu! Heh heh! ;) Must tell me what you're bringing on that day first, then I'll tell you if it's okay. Like what sum said, we don't want 100000000000000 fishballs and nothing else on that day! ;) Oh and helping sum to convey his message, he welcomes Xian Niang's fishballs and beat-rice's cakes/brownies/cookies! Hahaha!

Please keep your day free alright! Since it's an official dance practice day, there's no reason for you to miss out all the fun!

I shall take this chance to stress again ATTENDANCE is very important for SGC! ;)

And a gentle reminder to the J2s, Mr Sum excused you guys during the SYF period. But now, since SYF is over, attendance will be compulsory once again. :)

Zzup peeeeepoleeeee! It's been a long time since the previous update. Nevertheless, I HOPE THAT THE CAMP WAS DAMNDAMNDAMN FUN FOR THE JC1s! Great job to everyone who made this camp successful - SUM and Exco who planned the activities, SP and Publicity which decorated the studio, Welfare with the delicious breakfast and maggie, Logistics for the prep stuff, actresses and Leroy for the video, awesome group leaders... (and it goes on and on and on... yeah~)

Anyway, it's the March holiday break now, non-syf members must jiayou mugging and score well for SA1 and CA1! :)

As you all know that we'll be having our Orientation Dance Camp this coming Sat & Sun, 19th & 20th! So please report to the studio by 1pm on Sat afternoon and the attire will be Dark colour tee with TPJC short! Remember to eat your lunch first before coming. (:

Hello dancers!!!!

Your forever beloved SP team would like to thank each and every dancer who helped out for CCA exhibition!! You guys rock!

Even though there's still room for improvement (as mentioned by Sum in the chatbox), yet it's still a huge success!! It is really nice to know that dancers, after going through so much ups and downs last year, we're still able to keep the fire burning and reunite and rise as one again!

So keep it up MDC!!! :) This is the spirit that we should have! Just like how the orientation was just know! I'm sure you could tell many J1s enjoyed it and bonded really well :)

Hey people! JC2 dancers are to report at 1430hrs, JC1 students at 1530hrs this Friday!

Group I/Cs are as follows: SinHang, Sarah, Fion, OohJing

Sub I/Cs are as follows: Aditya, Hidir, Marcus, Angus, QianHui, JiaHui, SeeHui and XueJing

People in-charge of telling J1s and J2s where to put their shoes and bags: SzeTing and Caryn

Duties of Group I/Cs: Engage JC1s into conversation, head count number of JC1s and JC2s and report to YeeTeng, bring JC1s to Audi as a group.

Duties of Sub I/Cs: Take charge when Group I/Cs are not there.

People mingling around to stretch: Ann Gie, YunJing, QianHui, Rochelle, Crystal, Regina, JiaYan, SinHang.

The Audi's stage is not big enough, so other J2s will go around correcting their positions, or help out the Exco team with the setting up of games! Please ask around if anyone needs help instead of not doing anything.

LOGISTICS please take note! Prepare portable speakers and microphones to bring to the Audi. Make sure its set up before the J1s reach.

WELFARE please make sure forefeits are MADE before game ends!

A very big thank you to Rui Shan for spending her time helping us to choreo and everything! :D

We're done learning the Tik Tok extended choreo, halfway through cleaning up of steps! Those who had came today and learnt from the start only managed the choreo to the chorus. It is time consuming and really not easy to catch everything in one shot. For those of you who have been missing and think you can do it within a few practices, please wake up your idea. :)

And btw, people who told me you were on MC and haven't been coming till now, you've been sick for more than a week already, please take EXTRA care~

The preferred location will be all the Christmas Kettling location booths @ town area (orchard!) and will tentatively be on the 22nd December from 2pm to 6pm BUT NO WORRIES, each of us will only be doing 1 shift maximum and according to Salvation Army, each shift will last for 2 hours and of course, YOU'LL NOT BE ALONE! It's time for MDC to have some fun once again!!!! :DDDDDD

Next wednesday, we will be going for our super duper "educational" FUN NE trip AKA dance picnic!

This is compulsory FOR ALL DANCERS to go! Unless you're going away on an overseas school trip. But we know who these people are... So please don't try to escape with random excuses cus it'll be LOADS OF FUNNN! And besides, you wouldn't want to be the ONLY ONE without NE trip stated in your SGC right? ;)

Here are the details for the trip!

When: NEXT WEDNESDAY (1st December), assemble at studio by 1.15pm (Don't be late! The bus won't wait!), dismissal at about 5pm till 6pm
Where: MARINA BARRAGE
Doing what: PICNIC + GAMES
Attire: DANCE TEE + any kind of bottoms (skirt, long skirt, shorts, long shorts... etc)

Also, here's a a list of stuff to bring!

- Camera (to facilitate all camwhoring!)
- Water bottle
- Food (such as chips)**** Though we may provide some light refreshments but they will certainly be insufficient for us gluttons! Please have lunch before coming alright!!! :)
- Umbrella/Cap/Hat
- Shades/Sunglasses**** With the sun and beautiful view, we can take great group photos and beautify our studio!
- Picnic mats**** Sure you don't want to sit on the grass...
- Kites (optional)
- Card/Board games that can involve many players!

Transport will be provided from studio to Marina Barrage but there will be no transport back to school :)

Feeling recharged after today's training? Remember to go home and practice Crazy in Love alrighttt! Also, a very big thank you to Rui Shan (who hasn't even finish her A's) for teaching us your choreo! :D

A short update for those who weren't here for dance today, we'll be doing four flash mobs for the J1s next year. Crazy in Love, choreo-ed by Rui Shan, which we have learnt today. A choreo by Maddy, Tik Tok and Roll it Girl. We won't have time to reteach the choreos so miss more practices and you'll be the one to lose out at the end of the day. ;)

Short summary of the debrief today:

1. Friday's training starts at 2PM. Remember to bring along FOUR bucks! If not Ulfah, Clarice, Jia Min will HAUNT YOU DOWN. Please be punctual and inform Cheryl if you can't make it (with a VALID reason).

2. The Marina Barrage outing will be held next Wednesday or Friday (1st or 3rd December), depending on the weather. Hopefully it'll be sunny so that we can play in the field and fly kites! :D We will confirm and inform you the details by Monday when the weather forecast is out. In case of a wrong prediction and it rains on Wednesday, do bring along your dance attire too as dance practice will resume. A reminder for those who have work, please apply for leave so that we can bond together! We need lotza pictures together to fill up our 'C'! :)

3. We'll visit Chloe on Thursday, 25th Nov. Do let Sum know if you're going!

Just to let you guys know, attendance will be taken VERY strictly from now onwards. We will only accept valid reasons for not being able to attend dance practices. If you're on MC, plz make a copy of it and pass it to Yee Teng the next dance training. If you have no valid reason for not attending dance practice, you will be marked as absent. Note that you will stand at a disadvantage if you do not fulfill a certain percentage attendance as this will be reflected in the MOE cockpit.

For those of you who did not attend last Friday's debrief, there were two very important things mentioned. First, following last week's practice, there will be subsequent practices every Wednesdays and Fridays during holiday. Second, the Marina Barrage outing! :D

The EXCO understand that it might be a little rushed to hold the Marina Barrage outing this coming Friday so we have decided to postpone it to next Wednesday, 1st December. This is a one week in advance notice so no excuses for "I've already made plans with my other half/classmates/whoever." This is during co-curriculum time so you should be free. Plz take leave if you are working as you have been noticed in advance. :) There will be dance practice as usual on Friday.

On a side note, we're planning to visit Chloe on Thursday. The poor girl just went through some operation so let's all show our care and concern for her! Just tell any one of the EXCO if you wanna go along. Sum would drive us there I guess! :D And we're planning to have dinner on Friday after practice too! It's been long since we had dinner together so do really come along! :)

Update on Post-Promo/PW Dance Training

Hey dudes,

Firstly, it's been a long time and I definitely missed you guys.

Well, hope you miss getting kicked in the butt too cos we're gonna start off with evil stretches and physical training to clean up all the funky fats that had accumulated over the past 2 months.

Training is TENTATIVELY to resume on Friday after my final PW marking, so here's advanced notice to you guys. DUN SAY YOU DIN KNOW. TENTATIVE mainly because we need to first confirm how many of you guys have official stuff eg OCIP trip briefing happening elsewhere in college on Friday. Do note that smooching with your other half, watching movies, class gatherings, etc are NOT really very official in nature. Even if it's planned to happen within college. When in doubt, plse confirm with me or the EXCO, you know I'm open to reason.

Programme highlights:

1) We intend to hold the long overdue birthday celebrations on Friday, but it becomes less meaningful if many of you have official college stuff to settle. Hence again, u see why it's TENTATIVE. But if the majority have no official stuff on, we'll still try to kickstart training as I understand that pple have become very lethagic lately.

2) We'll also need to plan the Flash Mob, just like what the seniors did for you guys. This is time consuming to execute well, trust me.

3) Then there's the CCA exhibition where the J1s do signups. Planning and execution pple plse get ready. We likely also need to perform a dance item for them.

4) We're also likely to have a Dance Orientation Camp for those who signed up. Hopefully it'll be as fun as the one you guys experienced beginning of this year.

5) Plus our year end Marina Barrage trip, Children's Home CIP trip, possible Universal Studios outing, most of these were mentioned beginning of the year but have not been fully planned and approved yet.

6) The only thing, and it's a major thing, that is different is that we got to do all these AT THE SAME TIME as the SYF training. Which means we'll need to split up duties effectively, with non-SYF pple taking most of the load. This is something we've not tried before. SYF year is usually our low profile activities year in the past as we need to focus.

Hopefully you guys can see that the timeframe is very short and we need to seriously get the photos etc up by end Dec.

To summarise, if you're confused by whatever was mentioned, just know this. Coming Fri 19 Nov is TENTATIVE training date. Unless something drastic happens, it's on. Hence you should be on activation alert. I'll do my A&E and discuss training details and feasibility with EXCO and get back to you by Thursday. Meanwhile the assumption is Friday is on.

Alright, dance is resuming this coming Wednesday, 27 Oct 2010!

We'll start off with spring cleaning, everyone is expected to report at 1430hrs! People in MT Grp 2 is excused. :D Those who cant make it, PLEASE INFORM YEETENG PERSONALLY. It'll last for about 2 hrs. hopefully. If all of us cooperate and do well with the cleaning. HEHEHE. Come puntually, alright? ;)

This Friday, we'll begin our regular training and start physical training! BURN ALL OF YOUR FATS YOU'VE GAINED AWAY. HOHO, subsequent trainings will be announced on Friday! As CCA hasnt started officially, Sum says it'll be max 3hrs long. So report at 2.30pm ohkay? I know all of y'all end at 1230 righttttt :D Once again, inform YeeTeng personally if you cant make it!

Given so many constraints this time, I'm glad to say we still managed to put up a great performance BOTH on Tue and Thurs. And I really mean it. As usual, we've done what most pple under the same circumstances cannot do, and that's what MDC has always managed to prove. So here's for the record: Congrats to a fine performance! And appreciation goes also to J2s who helped with makeup and stuff despite having to come early in the morning at 6am. U guys certainly make a wonderful team! =)

The above will be held at the University Cultural Centre Hall at NUS. Involves a total of 12 items, from various JCs and Sec schools plus SOTA and Northeast Normal University (China). I've been told to expect dances of high standards (GwH) and vast variety, hence personally I would like as many of u as possible to go watch it. This is especially so for the inexperienced dancers and those who aspire to be joining SYF next year. Tickets are first come first served so if possible by Monday we should finalise the numbers. NEW RULES AND REGULATIONS OF DUTIES

1) All duties timing to follow the studio clock.

All dancers to report to the duty Logistics I/C for attendance on your own accord. NO reminder will be given for the 2nd duty (when dance training ends)

2) Improved duty system put in place:

Respective duties for the following week (Wed & Fri) will be updated on the small whiteboard (behind the studio main door) very Friday. Dancers may now check their duties in advance. Please notify Siying early if you cannot make it. DO NOT wait till the last minute.
SMS notification will continue as before. Siying will send a message the night before dance training.

However, we do not want you to rely too much on the SMS notification, so please make an effort to check out your duty on the whiteboard!

3) Only valid reasons (e.g. tests, compulsory consultations, SC/PC/CC meetings) are accepted.

EXCUSE FOR LUNCH BREAK IS STRICTLY NOT ACCEPTABLE. (If your lesson ends at 2.30pm, you still have to report for duty by 2.40pm.) GO FOR LUNCH DURING YOUR BREAKS WITHIN THE CURRICULUM TIME.

For those who are down for duty next Wed (21/7), you will be notified by an SMS from Siying as usual. But here is an early notification since you won't be going to studio again till next Wed. People down for duty are Chandini, Farhanah, See Hui, Jia Yan.

Hi dudes,

Good to see most of you back. Coming Friday, there's lotsa outstanding jobs to be done.

1) Publications will be helping out in doing up the wall photos, EXCO/Subcomm chart, misc decor (eg personalize our boxes so other ccas dun keep using ours).

2) Media will probably continue uploading stuff to our Facebook MDC account.

3) SP and Welfare may want to use the time to coordinate the NE trip to Marina Barrage after we've confirmed the exact date and pass me a detailed proposal. Note the highlighted word

"detailed". eg include games instructions, I/C, etc. Same for F&B details from Welfare.

4) Alumni Affairs to be elected if possible. Then we'll hand over plus doublecheck our database of alumni in touch with us still.

5) Other members who can stay and help plse do so too. Rem it's not the post but the contributions that count.

After which dinner and frolick is planned.

For those who cannot stay too late, no worries, we'll cap the working time to 1930h max. Then we leave for home or dinner regardless whether the job is completed. Can always continue another day.

In preparation for Friday,

1) Plse bring your digital cams and the memory cards with the photos taken during Dance Camp June 2010. We need to print the photos in advance so that the wall can have your faces on it.

2) EXCO plse confirm the actual members in each subcomm (minus training coordinator for now) If possible, suggest how the commitee chart should take shape.

3) Phototaking of EXCO and subcomm teams will probably take place coming Wed, hope I remember to bring along the Lumix cam. In any case, do feel free to look your best on that day

Hi folks, hope you've enjoyed your break after College Day performance ;)

This is the tentative plan for the following weeks:

Wed, 26 May:
Another break for some of you dudes who desperately need to catch up on your work, since Humanities Week programmes are still ongoing. We'll be opening classrooms and studio as usual. Plse feel free to come even though I've made it an official catching-up break. Otherwise do spend your time wisely as once training resumes, we generally do not entertain excuses about needing to catch up on work. Plus once your SA results are out, those failing to meet promotional criteria will be sent for compulsory classroom studies with the J2s during CCA time. I'm dead serious.

Thurs, 27 May (5.10 pm):
Finally we'll get to take our long postponed "Family Portrait". Plse make it a point to be on time as lately there's been more pple coming late without valid reasons. We've closed one eye previously because we know the many extra trainings do take a toil on you dudes. But as of this practice, the physical penalties (pushups, etc) will be back. There's a lot of you and we cannot afford to keep waiting indefinitely for pple. You will be arranged in 6 rows (EXCO will help arrange u guys tat day) so that it'll be a short, smooth process. Jc2s who have lessons will follow the flash mob procedure, we'll sms u once jc1s are in "formation".

We'll also be announcing both the appointed Publicity and Media teams that day. Those who did not sign up previously and wish to do so now plse inform me ASAP. Same thing for those who had signed up and I've confirmed your status but wish to pull out.

A quick survey on your preferred dates will then be done to facilitate June Dance Camp planning.

As following day is public holiday, we're proposing a light dinner cum durian session (pending availability of pple) as dessert. Do try to join us, esp the quieter dudes ;)

Sun, 30 May:
EXCO, including subcomms, will be planning post-College Day training/admin at Netheravon Terrace @ Aloha Changi. Members who are free are encouraged to join us, whether for the discussions or your own group activities eg games. The chalet is FOC, courtesy of Ms Young. Do note that Monday morning you'll have lessons so you'll want to bring along extra proper college uniform. Those adventurous ones may come back to stay on Monday night as well.

Week 2 of June Hols:
There'll be a 2 day 1 night dance camp this week. Exact days we'll confirm after conducting the quick survey on 27 May. Stay tuned!

Weeks 3 and 4:
Tentatively plan is to allow revision for SA, so you have no excuse to do badly. I'll give you logistical support eg opening College areas for studying (including at night) whenever I can. Welfare team will help me collate interested groups. Jc2s, do organise yourselves and tell me what u need. This is a crucial period for u.

After SA:
Pre-training for pple interested in SYF starts. Guys are automatically in, unless u can convince me otherwise :)
1) "Advanced" warmups (those that'll make u cry involuntarily)
2) Basic contemporary moves, figures, lines (to make u dudes look more graceful for gals, more masculine for guys)
3) Basic partnering moves, figures
Instructor will come in once your stretching becomes better, cos unlike us, he'll have ZERO MERCY. Basic choreo will likely start soon after.

For pple not interested in SYF, a separate programme will likely start. Could be reggae by alumni, to be confirmed.

Dec Hols (after promos)
Major training for SYF dudes. The rest will prepare for CCA Orientation.

Yup, tat's the brief tentative overview of this year's plan. Do give your input as nothing is yet cast in stone.

Speeding Up of 4 min choreo

As mentioned, we're only at 1/4 of the choreo, with 2 weeks to go before blocking. It's an extremely short time, so short that even the J2s are getting worried (I usually get worried way before them) Hence, we will not have the time to refine the steps during Wed and Fri training for the next 2 weeks. Instead we'll go full speed ahead and will leave Sat for interested personnel to practice and refine in their groups. J2s are welcome to join but it's definitely not compulsory for them. I'll be around though I may not have the full time to feedback every detail (I'll try).

Hence J2s plse take note the major change for tmr's training. Wed speed should already be accelerated but it's still too slow.

P.S. the elected EXCO and subCOMs do be ready to have a burst of task assigned to u IN ADDITION to training. This is one of your "free-est" periods in 1st year already (dun look like rite?) and we've many tasks to complete before the mid year Common Test. Good luck for those elected, ladies and gentlemen.

Training Info for 2010

Dance Practice on this Wed, 24th Mar:

JC2s are excused cos they're fighting another battle at the Semestral Assessments, we wish them all the best!

JC1s u will be having your first taste of the more serious training every batch before u goes thru, at only 60% intensity for the moment. We start off with real stretching this time (means muscles will ache), the kind that every paid instructor do to u before each lesson, followed by kick, turns (ballet/contemp style) Thereafter we'll be doing these type of stretching once a mth, increasing in intensity (% and frequency) cos by Aug when we start preparing physically for syf, the instructors u meet will be much worse than us, trust me.
Guys will then do 4 minutes choreo (Marcus will teach the guys steps required, dun need to follow the exact sequence yet), gals will do the Beautiful Dirty Rich choreo. This is in preparation for the College Day performance, we'll be doing a slightly editted piece since the audience on that day will not have seen this piece before (so far only JC1 student cohort have seen it on CCA Exhibition Day) By 1st week April we'll fix the actual dancers and reserves for College Day.

Future Plans:

A new funky choreo (instructor to be determined) will start only after College Day (mid May) and training for this choreo will extend into June hols and beyond. This new choreo is probably going to debut on Teacher's Day 2010. As we have not signed any contract yet at the moment, feel free to suggest what you would like to learn and perform and we'll try to take your views into consideration.
Meanwhile in Aug our syf physical training starts and will be conducted by our contemp/syf instructor Xu Jie who will be piecing up the choreo.

Training will intensify soon JC1s, so do not slack in yours studies or else u will find it stressful to cope with so many things later in the year. U can do it, warriors of MDC! =)

Hello Juniors, these are some simple itinerary to guide you.

Day one,
please take your lunch before reporting to the studio,
wear dark clothing for reporting as there will be wet games.
You may be given time to change after the wet game (if it is too wet) for the next activity.

Right after Dinner, you are required to change into your TRIBAL COSTUM,

FYI: we have a best dress and worst dress for this section, and it will be part of the 2^nd GAME.
For those who have no idea what tribal means; think of TRIBE!!! Torn clothing, ragged, cavemen, THINK THE SURVIVOR WAY! If not then leopard prints will also do, but it wouldn’t be unique.

You may find this weird, FROM CRUISE to tribal, but all this is part of the storyline which will be revealed on the day itself.

Stuff to bring:
I believe you people have gone through enough camps to know what is needed for two days ONE night.

Other than what have been mention above, please also bring a BRUSH (ANY KIND; NOT FOR brushing your teeth)

Please Wear dark coloured clothing for the first day of the CRUISE

What About Motion Sickness ......

Our ships are well stabilized. Most of the time you won't notice you are even moving.
It's a good idea though to take along some Dramamine (follow the directions on the box). Also aspirin and sunscreen.
If you do have a problem onboard. All ships have a doctor and a nurse (Beatrice) aboard. Be sure not to forget any prescription drugs you are taking. These should be put in your carry-on-luggage.

What About Your Luggage ......

As the cruise will be only be TWO DAY ONE NIGHT, please bring sufficient attire and whatever stuff you need, do be mindful to bring a SET OF TRIBAL COSTUME.

Some changes to the punishments:

1. For reporting in studio - If you are late, you will have to...

20 push ups/sit ups [by Eugene]
Pay 10cents for each min you are late [to Clarice]

Punishments will double for second offence, triple for third offence.. FOURTH OFFENCE OR MORE, DIE :D

2. Those that never duty at all/never report to me before and after dance starts, you will have to...

First offence - 50 sit ups/push ups
Second offence - 75 sit ups/push ups + $2
Third offence - 100 sit ups/push ups + $5

I will only message you once the night before and it's your job to inform me your reasons by 10am, the next morning. If i never message you, you still have to come to studio and do your duty.

Hi dancers,

A couple of things to take note of:

1. Practice officially starts at 3pm on wednesdays & fridays

Please be punctual & have a good meal before prac starts (Remember to leave some time for digestion!) Attendance is compulsory unless with valid reasons. If you're unable to come/will be late, please text me AND your Group I/C* (just one) beforehand, preferable the day before or on the day itself before dance starts with VALID REASONS. Also, if you're unwell, you will have to provide an MC.

There will be punishments for late comers too! heheh.

Punishments (for late coming, without valid reasons) :

Every 1 minute late --- 5 pushups (EXCO - Do double the amount*)

We have a grace period of 15 minutes. So every minute will be counted AFTER 315pm.

Eugene, our training coordinator will pass out and decide the punishments. Report to him directly.

Undergo the 'Wheel of Torture' !

Currently its under repair. But we'll be using it veh soooon :D As for what it is... Its a specially deviced wheel made by the seniors which helps pass out the punishments. So the type of punishments you get will ultimately be IN YOUR OWN HANDS. So you'll need a lot of luckkk here! haha.

2. Practice will be held in the Studio

Studio to be split :

“Roll it girl” group will learn new choreography; "Canned Heat" (Jazz-like dance)
“Label or love” group will continue with the routine

3. There will be runs starting this friday, 5th March

You may wish to bring :

an extra shirt to change into after the runs
Shorts/fbts/ sport shoes to run in
towel
waterbottle

4. DANCE CAMP!!

We'll be having a 2D1N Camp during the march hols :) And it will most likely be on Wed/Thurs, 17th and 18th of March (Majority vote)

Therefore, we need NAMES of people who want and are completely sure that they can go for the camp and have permission to go from your parents. You may have to pay for the dance camp too if the funds we currently have are insufficient for the activities.

Please notify us by 5th March, friday with the following information..

Your name & class
I will/will not be attending dance camp

Inform your respective Group I/Cs or me during this fridays practice when attendance is taken.

5. Submission of shirt design this Friday (5th March)

Pass them to our Publicity Heads - Natasya/ Rachel.

6. Online survey

A gentle reminder to complete the survey for all those who have not done so.

7. College Day performance

We would like to confirm the names of interested performers for College Day (both seniors & juniors). Please let me know by this wednesdays practice.

8. Dance Fund $$$

Bring 2 bucks to pay Clarice for the month of March on wednesday.

Group 1 has done their duty last friday, though 2 of them were late, but overall they did a good job! (: *applause*

Each group must know when is their turn to do their duties! Group 2 will be doing their duties next, on wednesday, 3 march.

Instructions:
Please report to the studio 20 mins before dance starts. Attendance will be taken by me and those that are late, will be punished! :D Please report on time cause i will be briefing you on the duties.

For those who knows you will be late for some valid reasons, like lessons.. Please inform me before the reporting time. Do take note that having lunch or left your house late will not be a valid reason cause i have taken the time to check all your timetables to ensure that you have ample time for lunch. If you know you have the tendency to be late, leave your house earlier.

Those who will be absent, you have to inform me so that i can find replacements and you STILL have to do your duty on other days.

Now for the PUNISHMENTS, HAHA:

For first timers:
Those that report late, for every 1 min that you are late, you will have to do 5 sit ups / push ups / some other thing (will be decided by Eugene, our training coordinator) and have to pay 10 cents to dance funds! Woo, more money..

Those that failed to inform me will have to do the punishments as above and in addition, pay extra $1 and run extra round.
*I will use the time stated on the clock in studio. So make sure you synchro your time.

For second timers:
Every 1 min, 10 sit ups / push ups / some other things and 20 cents to dance funds.

Those that never do their duty at all:
First offence - 50 sit ups / push ups
Second offence - 100 sit ups / push ups + $2

1) we would like to know whether you guys are interested in joining us for this picnic we'll be having tgt with the j1s at ECP next wednesday (24 feb).
